Jordanien:
Janzir CONSULT wurde aus Jordanien beauftrag, ein qualifiziertes deutsches Unternehmen zu finden, welches eine Studie zur Umsetzung einer 1 Mega Photovoltaik-Anlage in Jordanien erstellen kann.
Projektbeschreibung:
Establishing a One Mega-Watt Grid-Connected PV Power Plant in Jordan
Background
During recent years, solar electricity generation based on photovoltaics (PV) has developed into an industry at annual growth rates above 20%. The PV market in the past was basically limited for consumer applications like solar calculators, watches and battery chargers, in addition to remote industrial applications too far to be connected to the utility grid like telecommunications and traffic signals systems. But, the PV market is now shifted towards grid-connected and remote areas electrification systems.
Objective
This project aims at preparing a detailed technical and socio-economic feasibility study of establishing a one mega-watt grid-connected PV power plant in Jordan, and according to the results and findings of this feasibility study, the target plant will be implemented.
Justifications:
- The need for such detailed study as a reference for decision makers in Jordan, which is currently not available.
- The need for socio-economic indicators to stimulate and encourage investing in the field of PV grid-connected systems.
- The need for local capacity building in the field of installing grid-connected PV power plants in Jordan.
- The increasing costs of energy.
- Availability of wide areas with suitable prices, high solar potential and grid availability.
- The need to improve the environment by reducing CO2 emissions utilizing solar energy.
- Apart from reducing running costs and increasing efficiency, such facility allows simpler management and operation.
Implementation methodology
The objective of this project can be met through two phases, as follows:
Phase 1 : Technical and economic feasibility study
- Determining the technical and economic barriers of establishing the facility in cooperation with different concerned and interested institutions.
- Preparing evaluation and estimation of the solar PV-generated electricity cost ($/kWh) in comparison with the traditional electricity cost (with the help of technical experts and consultants).
- Determining the costs of installing the facility, level of production, and payback period (with the help of technical experts and consultants).
- Site selection based on availability of the utility grid, potential of solar energy, and the land prices.
- Studying the different available techniques like solar trackers and DC/AC grid connected inverters to achieve the best system performance and yield.
- Using simulation software to predict the electricity production and losses over a year.
Phase 2 : Implementation
-
Literature and market survey: to find out what is available in the market.
-
Manufacturer's survey: to gather information about manufacturers engaged in photovoltaics and its applications.
-
Tendering and purchasing the equipment needed.
-
Site preparation and building the infrastructure.
-
Installation and operation of the system.
-
Preparing the connection to the national utility grid according to the electricity generation regulations and legislations in Jordan.
-
Measuring, evaluation and optimization of the system.
-
Training engineers and technicians.
-
Organization of a workshop for dissemination of information.
Project Partners:
-
Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in Jordan.
-
Electricity Regulatory Commission in Jordan.
-
Electricity generation, transmission & distribution companies in Jordan.
-
Technical experts and consultants in feasibility studies.
Project Duration: The duration needed to execute this project is 2 years.
